Multiphase flow (MF)
Description
Multiphase flow is the flow of various phases (liquid and gas). It also includes heat flow. The most important application is the soil, but this research topic is also relevant for buildings and terrestrial CO2 sequestration.
Some of the issues treated by the Hydrogeology group are:
- Development of efficient and general purpose numerical codes (CodeBright and RetrasoCodeBright)
- Monitoring for obtaining data relevant for multiphase flow (temperature, capillarity, saturation).
- Study of the interaction between flow of liquid water, vapor, heat and/or salinity.
- Study of the interaction between multiphase flow and reactive transport.
